Raffle at Stage to Page

I had a fantastic evening at Stage to Page last night. Many thanks to the actors and Cat MacLeod (director) for bringing my piece to life. The feedback from the audience was valuable and I now have a few ideas for developing this into a full-length play.

Angus Book Fest

Had a great morning at Angus Book Fest on Saturday 18th November. I enjoyed catching up with Margaret Bowman (member of Fife Writes scriptwriting support group). Also great to meet up with fellow City Writers members: Wendy H Jones, Sheena Macleod and Eileen Rolland (not pictured).

Scottish Community Drama Association's monologue competition

Scottish Community Drama Association runs an annual monologue competition for members of associated groups such as Fife Writes. This was a great competition to be a part of. I enjoyed watching all of the performances. The feedback I've received from judges for both my writing and performance will help me to improve. My performance can be found here:

Byre Theatre's 90th anniversary

I was honoured to be invited to the Byre Theatre's 90th anniversary celebrations last night. It was great to watch a film of interviews with key people from the Byre's past, especially as the Byre Writers were mentioned. It's good to know that the work of the group continues through Fife Writes .

Mother Sea

Had a great time at Waterstones St Andrews listening to Lorraine Wilson talk about her latest book Mother Sea. Enjoyed the cake too! I met Lorraine on the Business of Being an Author course and it's great that some of the participants on the course now have books published/ self-published. My turn next?

Time to focus on my own writing

I'm stepping down as Events Co-ordinator for Fife Writes at the AGM as I only volunteered to be on the committee for a year. I've enjoyed organising workshops and support groups for the charity but I need time to focus on my own writing. Fife Writes' 100th event

Fife Writes held its 100th event on Tuesday 17th January 2023. Marianne L. Berghuis ran a workshop on Writing for Wellbeing, which was fantastic. Such a great venue too at 58 Bonnygate Co-working and Community Hub in Cupar. Photo is of George McDermid, Fife Writes Treasurer, alongside Marianne with a cake to celebrate our 100th event.
