Fantastic weekend!

On Saturday 30th November, I represented City Writers at Discovery Point's Christmas Market. Many thanks to everyone who came along and bought a copy of Captain Kit.  On Sunday 1st December, I supported Kit at Battle in the Burgh. Delighted that he won each of the three first round fights with a knock-out. Unfortunately, he was beaten in the round of 16, and during the first round of the team fights. Canongate Primary school visit

Had my first ever school visit today at Canongate Primary School. It was wonderful to have an event during Book Week Scotland . The P1 pupils enjoyed hearing me read Captain Kit. They then decorated swords and pirate ships. Kit then talked about his combat robot, Exposure, and showed them videos of his fights at Robodojo . Fantastic afternoon!  

Fife Climate Festival competition- 2nd place

Angus Book Fest

  I had a great time today at Angus Book Fest, sharing a table with Fiona Lowry. I achieved a new record in sales at an event too!

Auchterarder Book Festival

Had a fantastic time at Auchterarder Book Festival today. It was lovely to catch up with Maggie Bolton. I read the story out to a group of children and then they decorated wooden swords. I even sold some copies!

Exciting weekend!

So proud of Kit. He competed at RoboDojo in York yesterday, and Exposure came 2nd in the tournament! The video is of Exposure beating Bulbaroar.  Today, I joined other authors at Forgan's Broughty Ferry for a book signing event.

Kit's been working hard improving his combat robot. His latest design is amazing. Kit will be competing at RoboDojo in York on Saturday 2nd November. Find out more about his project at https://kitscombatrobots.blogspot.com/ All proceeds from sales of Captain Kit go towards the combat robot.

I'll be busy in November at various events, including Auchterarder Book Festival and Angus Book Fest. Delighted to have my first school visit booked as part of Book Week Scotland celebrations.

Making the Yum Yum

My son  Kit and I spent time this morning transforming a toy pirate ship into the Yum Yum. We've included some scenes from the book. I think it looks great and hopefully it will attract customers to our stall at forthcoming events.

Waterstones Dundee

I had my final Captain Kit event of the summer at Waterstones Dundee yesterday. The event was mentioned in the current issue of the Alliance of Independent Authors member magazine. My next Captain Kit events will be in November. I'm looking forward to finishing my play 'Raffle' in the meantime.

  I was at Whitfield library this morning with Wendy H Jones and Elaine May Smith. We read our stories out and then ran craft activities for the children.

Event at Discovery Point, Dundee

  Many thanks to Discovery Point, Dundee for letting me use the Falcon Scott suite for today's event. A fantastic function room with a stunning view. Unfortunately, no visitors came to the room to do the free craft activities! However, Kit and I enjoyed colouring in the ships and doing the wordsearches. It was also a great place to do some people-watching. Hoping to have attendees at our next event!

Dundee Central Library

  Had a great time this morning at Dundee Central Library. Many thanks to Dundee Libraries for organising the session and to all those who came. (I've not included any photos of the children but the event was well attended.) Copies of Captain Kit are available to borrow from the library.
